Sports Report – Chev V Oxley (Round 3)

Saturday sport continued with Round 3 of the Highlands Cup. Teams were all happy to be in action again for the final matches of the modified 2020 winter season. It was also the final game for all our wonderful Year 12s.

Netball began proceedings at school with the junior teams taking the stage. The Junior A game was an absolute cracker with the match ending tied at 35-35.

The Chev Junior B girls were also up early and had a good win in McGrath Hall.

The 1sts Girls also had a very close game ending up 1 point in front at the siren.

In a great game at Oxley, Zahli T. starred and Mackenzie E. played well in her final netball game for school.

Allison C’s superb Squad 10 Girls completed their undefeated season and could well be the 2020 star Chev Netball team.

The Hockey girls had a good day over at Oxley. The 1sts had another tight match with Emily P. scoring the only goal.

The Year 7 girls continued to perform well and managed to score 6 goals. Jemma C. (3), Maya T. (2) and Claire McC. were the scorers.

The Tennis teams at Chev enjoyed their games but injuries and illness took their toll, with many players playing up divisions to cover spots.

For the Chev Team 1 team James M. won a very good singles match.

For the Chev Team 2 team Molly McK played well in singles and doubles.

Conor S. and Haydn H. saw them win both doubles, and their first victories of the season for the Chev 3 team.

In the Rugby it was a clean sweep for the Chev boys. The 13s had their best win so far. Tries by Max A., Marshall P., Hugh W., Jarvis C., Finley C. and Henry McM.

The 14s had another big win and the 15s played very, very well to get their first win. Noah F. was on fire for the 15s along with Matt C.

The 1sts boys went out on a high with a convincing 26-5 victory. Jarrod C. scored the first try of the day and other scorers were Jaydan E., James H. and Joel C.

In the Girls Soccer the 1sts managed to win 1-0 thanks to a Charlotte H. goal.

The Inters won 4-0 with Maya F. (2), Lily S. and Harriet E. the scorers. Special mention to Sienna R. who had a great game in goals.

In the Boys Soccer the 2nds boys had a good close contest and a Griffin L. goal shared the points.

The 13s had another entertaining 4-4 draw and the 14s had a great end to their season with a 4-0 win.

Hoping all the Dads enjoyed a great Father’s Day.

See the pics from another great day of sport and kids enjoying playing.
