Career Guidance

Career Guidance

We help students acquire the necessary skills for career planning and decision making, with a focus on developing their ability to manage the transition from school to the next stage of life. Students are assisted in developing a strong understanding of their career interests, abilities, aptitudes, strengths and career-related values.

Our students are provided with a broad and varied curriculum to expose them to a wide range of career possibilities.  We work closely with them to support their interests and aspirations and to make informed decisions about selecting subjects and future pathways.

Our Careers Advisor provides our students with access to current information on career options, tertiary education and training pathways to achieve their career objectives.

Opportunities include:

  • Careers lessons in Year 10
  • Work experience
  • University of Wollongong Discovery Days
  • Guest speakers from tertiary institutions, GAP year opportunities and apprenticeship/traineeship organisations
  • Regular discussions with Year 11 and 12 students about their future plans, whether the final destination sees them in an apprenticeship, at TAFE or university, travelling the world, doing a gap placement or in full-time employment.
