Accelerated Learning

Gifted students are those with the potential to exhibit superior performance across a range of different areas of endeavour. Talented students are those with the potential to exhibit superior performance in one area of endeavour.

We acknowledge that it is critical for gifted and talented students to be given appropriate opportunity for stimulation and the experiences to develop their potential and satisfy their learning needs.

Accelerated Learning is how we respond to an individual student’s exceptional needs. This program helps those students with the highest academic abilities to ‘springboard’ ahead and maximise their own potential by working at a level far beyond where they would be if they were confined to a standardised curriculum model.

In addition to the school curriculum and the college extra curriculum program, students also have the opportunity to participate in external activities, including:

• Da Vinci Competition
• UN Evatt Security Council Competition
• Various UNSW Competitions
