At Chevalier College we want our students to feel they are activated in all their abilities whether academic, creative, sporting, spiritual or emotional; we are committed to educating the whole person. Our extensive Extra Curriculum program is key to this philosophy, and we have the resources and facilities to be able to offer a full range of choices.
Our beautiful 100 acre site is home to modern, state-of-the-art facilities such as the Sacre Coeur Performing Arts Centre and the John Fahey Education and Sport Centre, as well as sports fields, courts, training spaces and adventure trails all on site thanks to our expansive, rural location.
Extracurricular activities are not compulsory but we have a large uptake with around 70% of students taking part. With our whole-person philosophy in mind, we encourage our students to get involved and find something which sparks their interest among the huge array of opportunities available to them. Choices include winter and summer sports (including cricket, tennis, hockey, rugby, soccer, netball, basketball, softball, touch football, mountain biking and swimming), performing arts (including drama, dance and an extensive range of music ensembles and choirs), visual arts, agriculture such as the popular Show Team, social justice, cultural tours, and more academically-oriented activities such as debating, mock trial and public speaking.
Chevalier College acknowledges and pays respect to the Gundungurra people, the Traditional Custodians of Country and the First People of the land on which our college is located. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and are committed to honouring First Nations Peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual connection to Country.
