It was a bumper day on the sporting fields and courts at Chevalier for Round 8 of the ISA competition. The College played host to numerous basketball and touch football games from 9.00am to 2.30pm. A handful of teams also travelled to Sydney for boys basketball and cricket games.
Chev athletes showed amazing grit and determination in the sweltering conditions, made a little cooler by the marquees set up early by Coach Phillips and a merry band of staff including Mr Lane, Mrs Bentley and family, and Mrs Daly and family. This, along with the popular hospitality van, helped ensure a welcoming atmosphere for visiting schools. Nice work team!
Girls Touch Football
The girls played a double header against SAS Bathurst and KWS from Orange. On a blistering hot day, substitutions were made quickly in both games so players had time to recover. Teamwork was strong with the emergence of Claire as our tactical guide. Unfortunately both games were lost however, Molly B scored a wonderful diving try. Team improvements meant the scores were considerably lower than preseason games. Great effort by all players.
