Chev reigns at parading

The Chevalier College Show Team had a huge day at Moss Vale Show on Saturday 13 March, loading cattle at 5am and getting back to school at 5pm!

The parader’s event saw 21 of our students competing, and all came away with ribbons! This was a great day for the team in preparation for our trip to the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

RESULTS

Our Square Meater heifers led by Jessica R. and Bridget R. placed 3rd in ‘pair of heifers’.

‘Willie Nelson’ led by Sarah M. – our Charolais from the McLachlan Group – came 2nd in heavy-weight steers.

Standouts:
Sarah P. – handling our freshly broken ‘Rango’ – getting him to the show and into the ring was an enormous effort.

Ashton S. – 1st place in 14s paraders and Charlotte F. – 1st place in 16s paraders.

Jessica R. and Kate B. for the tremendous handling of our temperamental heifer ‘Rose’.

Well done to Jacob B. (assisted by teacher Jennifer Caines) for preparing and exhibiting some of our chickens – our first time showing chickens and we came away with a 1st Place and two 3rd Placings (from 5 entries).

Thanks to teacher Peggy Handley for her assistance and her expert parading of a naughty heifer that broke her lead!
