The final round of sport was played on Saturday in hot, hot conditions. All Chev teams were playing away with the girls at Oxley College and the boys’ teams in the Blue Mountains.
For the Cricketers the results were certainly mixed. The Juniors had what looked like a convincing win over Robertson, but the match was decided with a wicket on the last ball of the innings. Rohan D. continued his good form scoring 35 with the bat.
The 1sts Team travelled to the Blue Mountains with injuries affecting team numbers. A long stint of fielding did not help the physical and mental state of the team and, batting second, we only managed to accumulate 28 runs.
A tough day out for all the boys and Coach Luke McGinnity.
Better news from the Boys Touch Football teams who both had big wins.
The Basketball Boys in the Blue Mountains had mixed results with wins for the 17s and 14B teams.
Patrick Bartlett’s 14B Boys remain the only undefeated boys basketball team.
The Junior Softball girls match at Oxley was extremely exciting with Oxley managing to get one more player home.
The Girls Touch Football matches were mainly closely contested with a very good win for Brayden Cleary’s 1sts team.
Hopefully, we can look forward to a normal 2021 Term 1 competition with more schools involved. In the meantime, thanks to all coaches for your efforts at training and games to ensure our students were able to play.
