Communication and critical thinking

Debating and public speaking provide students with opportunities to develop strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Chevalier teams participate successfully in the Catholic Schools Debating Competition and the Southern Highlands Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA). In 2019, the level of student interest in MUNA was so strong that Chevalier received special permission to enter three teams.

Through participation, students build skills in research, speech preparation and delivery, debating, negotiation and teamwork.
