On Saturday morning the sun shone brightly and all games proceeded as planned. Teams were keen to be back in action after the plug was pulled the previous Saturday. Looking out at our facilities in the beautiful conditions, Chev was indeed a great place to be.
The Inters and Junior B Girls Basketballers played at home up against the strong Oxley 1sts and Junior A teams. The Inters game was close and could have been even closer if the Chev girls had a better shooting percentage. Top scorers were Arabella W. and Annabel B.
The Junior B Girls all worked hard with no subs and Ruby M. and Grace P. top scored.
Our Softballers finally got to play a proper match and in two very close encounters the 1sts won 12-7. The Juniors were also winners by 1 run , 7-6.
The Cricketers were excited to be playing their first game on the main oval turf against Oxley. The Chev Boys batted steadily with a good partnership of over 60 runs with Matt C. 24 and Nick C. 46 batting solidly for a respectable total of 118.
For the bowlers, Sam M. with 3 wickets and Finn K. with 2, were the best but couldn’t get a couple more as Oxley just managed to reach the target in the run chase.
In the Boys Touch at Oxley the 1sts had a big win with John J. and Nick C. starring.
