A win also for the 1sts girls basketball team against Oakhill College 70 to 62. The junior boys touch football also had a convincing 9-0 victory over Oakhill.
Basketball
The 13A boys basketball team won 34 to 18. They were always in the lead and displayed great teamwork. All boys had a huge grin on their faces with their first win!
The 1sts girls basketball won 70 to 62 against Oakhill College. The girls started slow, struggling to find rhythm, but once they got on a roll, they managed to keep the game even through the first three quarters. In the fourth they came out firing on both ends of the court. Oakhill couldn’t keep up and Chevalier pulled away with an 8 point win. The girls showed true Chevalier grit and grind to win the game.
Cricket
The boys experienced a comprehensive loss against Oakhill College on the weekend. After 31 overs, Chevalier was all out for 50 runs. In reply, Oakhill reached the target in 8.4 overs, losing just one wicket. Top scorer for Chevalier was Moses R with 19 runs.
Softball
The girls played a good defensive game in the field, led by Heidi our super-star pitcher. Unfortunately we lost 16-1, but in the first innings we didn’t allow them to get a perfect 7.
Touch Football
Chevalier 2nds girls were scoreless to the 15 touch downs of their opposition. However, there were many opportunities to score and some amazing saves. The girls have significantly improved their skills since the start of the season.
The Intermediate B girls narrowly lost against St Spyridon 4 to 3.
The Junior D girls played well with the support of their family in their first ever home game. Abbey L, Jessica P, Mikaela R and Ruby A scored a try each. It was a close competition, however the girls were defeated by St Spyridon College with the score of 4 to 5.
