Weekend Sports Report – ISA Round 5
The majority of Chev teams were playing away on Saturday.
Our Softballers had the biggest road trip up to the Central Coast. Well done to all of our girls and coaches who made the early morning trip. The 1sts team got back in the groove after a bit of dropsy last week and had a good 12-1 win – must have been the extra pitching practice with Simon O’Hea!
The 2nds had their first win of the season with an 11-6 victory and were very happy girls.
The Junior B and C teams played a double-header and both sides scored plenty of runs and took lots of catches in a great morning of Junior Softball. Our Junior B team had a very close 11-9 win against Central Coast A.
In the Boys’ Basketball, the B teams were away at Oakhill and St Pauls. They are getting used to travelling, having had most of their games away this term. I’m pleased to report that all of these travelling sides were winners.
The Boys’ A teams played Redlands and in a great morning of Basketball at Moss Vale every match was a contest and most went right down to the final seconds for a result, starting with the 13’s match which was decided by a point! The 14’s surprised everyone with guest Coach Hargreaves in charge for a big match and two point win. The 15’s had their toughest game so far. The 17’s were in the game for most of the match and the 1sts game ebbed and flowed with Redlands just getting the run on points in the final minutes.
The Girls’ 1sts played Oakhill and were too strong.
In the Cricket, it was another good team win for the 1sts away against St Andrews.
Another year is disappearing fast, as we head for Round 6, the final round of ISA sport for 2015. Thankfully the weather so far for the Summer season has been superb. I will provide an update on our teams and where they are placed in their respective competitions during the week. Click to view results…
