Sports Report – ISA Winter Round 1

The winter season commenced on a beautiful sunny autumn day, with all teams happy to be playing their first competition matches of the season. The majority of Chev teams were at home with plenty of action around the college sports venues.

Most of the Netball teams had a positive start to the season and the girls looked great in their new Netball dresses.

The Chev 1st girls got their season off to a great start winning against Barker which no one could recall happening before.

A great first up team effort ended in a 3 point win with Steff Lockett and Adiel Mkolo starring.

The Inter B girls had the first early season bus trip leaving before sun-up to St Spyridon.

Despite traffic jams and just arriving on time the girls ended up with a moral boosting victory.

In the Hockey the 2nds and 4ths were the only two teams in action.

The 2nds girls had a tight 1-0 win over the road at Oxley with Georgia Pisano the goal scorer.

The Chev Tennis teams travelled to Centennial Park to play St Andrews and the 1sts won in a tight tie-breaker.

Andrew McIntosh and Harry Sargeant were Chev’s best players in their respective teams.

In the Rugby at home against Central Coast all teams played well and there were a couple of big scorelines in favour of Chev.

The 1sts played really well and all the hard work at training so far is paying off.

The front row of Hugh MacRae, Dan McGee and Sam Henderson led the way, with Tom Parkes and Billy McGuinness also playing strongly.

In the Girls Soccer the Chev 1sts ended up sharing the points in a 1-1 draw against Oxley. Zoe Molino was our goal scorer.

The points were also shared in the Inter match against Oxley.

In the Boys Soccer matches at home the majority of teams played against Central Coast Grammar.

The 1sts boys let in a late goal to finish with a 1-1 draw. Aiden Bertrand was our goal scorer.

Carlo Teodorowych and Liam Ryan-East scored for the 2nds in their 2-0 win.

And the 16s finished with a 2-2 in an entertaining game against Redfield.

Both Chev goals were scored by Romain Gregoire our new French exchange student who has brought his soccer talent with him to share.
