Sports Report – ISA Summer Round 5
The wild winds across our region eased slightly on Saturday but there was still a chill in the air for anyone outdoors. Chev sportspeople were spread around NSW with the Boys Basketballers and Girls Touch Footballers travelling to Bathurst for their games.
Both sports had fairly successful days out west, in particular the Boys Basketballers. The A teams are all doing well and it was a four out of five result for the Chev boys against the talented St Stannies teams.
The Touch Football girls played against Kinross Wollaroi from Orange and the newly merged All Saints and Scots Colleges from Bathurst. The Kinross teams had our measure but the day’s play finished positively with winning results against the SAS combination.
At home we had basketball and Cricket. The 13s Cricketers began the day and continued their good form with a big win over Bowral. Best with the bat were Matt Bailey, Kurtis Ambrose and Matt Colgan.
The 2nds boys did not fare so well on the main oval turf against Blue Mountains. Nick Colgan and Nick McColl did their best with the bat and Harry Pinczi was the best of the bowlers.
The B Boys Basketballers at Moss Vale had good matches against St Pius, but the visitors went home with the points.
Our senior Softballers travelled to Wentworth park to take on St Andrews and batted well to score plenty of runs.
The junior local derby was decided by one run with Oxley ending up in front when time was called.
In the Girls Basketball our 1sts were playing in a top of the table clash with Barker College. Last year’s grand final rematch saw lots of top quality basketball but the home team had the better of the day in the end. Top shooters for Chev were Georgie Mitchell and Georgia Genner.
View all the results below and we head into Round 6 on Saturday 1 December – our last for 2018.
