“Talented actors, quality musical and singing performances, a clever script, great costumes and sets – it takes a lot to present a great stage production. And Chevalier College’s latest musical offering, The Mikado, has it all,” wrote Jackie Meyers, Editor of the Southern Highland News after attending the Opening Night at Chev!
The Chevalier College production of The 39 Steps in May 2016 brought together a clever and tireless ensemble cast who bounced from scene to scene with contagious enthusiasm that kept their audiences entertained from start to finish.
The madcap story of The 39 Steps follows a dashing hero Richard Hannay, a lonely bachelor who gets more than he bargained for during a night out at the music hall. A parody of Hitchcock’s 1935 film of the same name, The 39 Steps is a comedy in the guise of an espionage thriller with Hitchcock’s usual conventions: the accused-but-innocent man, the possibly treacherous blonde, the unreliable police; all gelled together with witty use of props that had everyone in hysterics… Congratulations to all involved!!
In 2015, Chev’s award winning production of ‘The Boy from Oz’ enthralled audiences, featuring a cast of more than 100 actors, singers, dancers and musicians, plus our Year 7 Choir…
“So exciting, full of energy, talent superb. I can’t stop singing!”

“Jacob Sgouros is on stage almost throughout and makes the Peter Allen role his own.”
