Fr Jules Chevalier stated that the well-being of society in part depended on the Christian education of youth. The gospels give us a message of freedom and fullness of life. Chevalier College’s mission is to help all students reach their full potential in faith, in intellectual and cultural growth as well as their personal and physical development.
The curriculum at Chevalier reflects gospel values, in other words those values evident in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. In particular it reflects the MSC ethos based around Jesus’ invitation to his followers ‘to love one another as I have loved you’ (John 13:4).
Within the resources available, the Chevalier curriculum aims to provide opportunities for all students to have their individual needs and aspirations met, and to have their individual interests, abilities and achievements recognised. It enables the students who so choose to become accredited for the New South Wales Board of Studies Record of School Achievement and Higher School Certificate.
Chevalier College fosters a culture of learning and excellence, founded on the belief that every student can learn and, through that learning, make a contribution to realising a just and dignified society.
