The Great Chevalier Ball 2018
This year’s Presentation Ball was another outstanding success and a wonderful night to be cherished in the memories of all who attended, thanks to the tireless efforts of the committee whose admirable skills and talents combined together to create a stunning setting for The Great Gatsby themed ball.
No detail was spared in bringing this theme to life with every zone of McGrath Hall amazingly transformed into an elegant, glamorous 1920’s art deco showcase ready to party.
As guests arrived they passed by a handsome vintage car parked in the driveway, then walked under an impressive art deco entrance way into McGrath Hall, through the foyer ‘lounge’, by the ticket booth and the ‘Sweet Easy’ dessert bar, and swept into The Great Chevalier Ballroom to behold a vision of stylish sophistication.
The ballroom was swathed in a canopy of white with a stunning three-tiered chandelier and dozens of hand crafted stencilled lanterns and the room was finished with elegant wall and table decorations, beautiful lighting and, of course, the ubiquitous red carpet.
The young women and men from Year 11 who turned out elegantly in beautiful white ball gowns and formal black suits whirled and twirled around the ballroom for their ‘formal’ dance and all the guests enjoyed dancing to the dynamic sounds of The John Field Band until the wee small hours.
Congratulations and very special heartfelt thanks go to the committee, parent helpers, supporters, college maintenance team and staff for contributing to such a successful and memorable gala evening for our Year 11 students and their families.
