Why Chev?

Who are you?

Why Chev?

“It is by the Heart that we are something.”

– Fr Jules Chevalier msc –

What is Chevalier College?

Chevalier is a community that embodies a special culture grounded in a spirituality that inspires teachers and students to aim for greater things. It is a culture that encourages people to do their best and instils confidence that every person is valued. If one’s time at school is a ‘formative’ period, then Chevalier truly makes the most of that time

As parents, you can rest assured that the staff of the College will do all that they can to work beside you to fulfil your hopes and wishes for your children.  As a student, be assured that the many thousands of students who have gone before you have created a wonderful tradition, history and sense of community here at ‘Chev’.  It is a community you can enjoy and thrive in and one in which you can make lifelong friends.

Whether you are a parent or a student, we invite you to join our community and we look forward to welcoming you should you choose to come.

Chev is a place that does more than quote slogans – it works hard to live the charism that has been left to us by Jules Chevalier. You do not have to be Catholic to attend Chevalier but, of course, we expect our families to be supportive of the charism, of our way of doing things. By the same token, in keeping with the work and thinking of Jules Chevalier, we support families who are unable to afford the fees to attend the College.

Where is Chevalier College?

Chevalier College is located near the picturesque town of Bowral in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. The region is known for its beautiful landscapes and stunning natural attractions, and also for its cool climate.  Bowral is within a comfortable travelling distance of Sydney, Canberra and the South Coast and Illawarra.  Other features of this region include great eateries, food and wine, books, arts and antique stores, vineyards, regular fairs and farmers markets, the annual Tulip Festival, glorious cool climate gardens and The Bradman Museum, to mention just a few!

The College is nestled in beautiful landscaped grounds situated on a 100 acre site.  The generous playing fields and cricket pitch are the pride of the College and some of the best in the district.
