The Chevalier College Careers program allows students in Years 9,10, 11 & 12 to explore their interests and ambitions for the future. Visits to TAFE, university and the comprehensive Sydney Morning Herald HSC and Careers Expo 2010, give our students numerous opportunities to engage with the experts and to get a taste of life as it could be after they leave school. Year 9 and 10: The Year 9 and 10 Careers Education course at Chevalier College provides an opportunity for students to investigate career pathways which suit their particular interests and talents. One lesson per cycle each student has a lesson with the College's Careers Adviser. Here they learn about apprenticeships & traineeships, TAFE, university, private colleges and more.
The College also encourages Year 10 to participate in a structured Work Experience program. Planning subject choices for senior school study is also an important facet of their Careers course.
Year 11 and 12: Year 12 students at Chevalier have many opportunities to access information about career options. Guest speakers, uni & TAFE visits, the Careers Expo's, and the Southern Highlands Employers’ careers day are some of the ways our students can learn about their future.
Each Year 11 and 12 student should endeavour to make at least one appointment to speak to the Careers Adviser. This provides them with a chance to discuss ideas and problems before deadlines for applications happen.
