CAT Awards – it’s a litter!

Five CAT Awards came home with our fabulous and talented students, teachers and production teams for Baskerville – A Sherlock Holmes Mystery from the 2018 Canberra Area Theatre Awards Gala held in Canberra on Saturday 23 February.

Nominated for 11 prized CATs, the 2018 production of this fast-paced comedy by Ken Ludwig gave Director Kate Price, the production teams and cast plenty of scope to improvise and showcase their diverse talents.

Winners on the night were:

  • Best Production of a School/Youth Play-  Baskerville – A Sherlock Holmes Mystery
  • Best Director of a School/Youth Play  – Kate Price
  • Best Youth Actor in a Featured Role in a Play – Sam Malone as Mr Stapleton
  • Best Youth Actress in a Featured Role in a Play – Beatrice McRobbie as Dr McCann/Nurse Malloy
  • Best Costume Design for a School/Youth Production – Joanne Crow, Ann Philippe and Denise Hiser

We look forward to the next school production from this award-winning team when they present We Will Rock You, the musical by Queen and Ben Elton in our new Performing Arts Centre – May 29 to June 1.
