Philosophy of Education

Fr Jules Chevalier founded The Society of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart at Issoudun, France in 1854.  He had a vision of regenerating society through devotion to the Sacred Heart. Included among the ways of achieving this vision was the education of youth.  Mindful that the teaching closest to Jesus’ heart is his command to ‘love one another as I have loved you’, the MSC especially value love, concern, compassion, understanding, respect and acceptance of every individual.  Read more...

Chevalier College began in 1946, with just 40 students, as a boarding and day school for boys. Joined by 30 girls from Elm Court run by the Dominican sisters in Moss Vale, the College became truly coeducational in 1973. There are now more than 1200 students enrolled at Chev.  Read more...
